The Homeless Assessment and Support Team (HAST) provides access to healthcare and support services for homeless people in Sheffield with mental health problems.
They provide an assessment service and, where appropriate, offer treatment and support in establishing tenancies. This enables those users with enduring mental health problems to access and engage with mainstream mental health services.
Most contacts take place in the community as well as at the clinic.
Anyone over 18 who is homeless and who has mental health problems is eligible for the service. 16 – 17 year olds who are homeless and who have suspected or early onset psychosis may also be referred by CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service).
Referrals are accepted from a wide range of agencies and individuals can also self-refer. Referral forms are available through contacting the HAST office.
For more information, check out their website.
