Community Grocery is a national charity, with a branch in Sheffield. They run community grocery stores, with supermarket surplus, and wholesale food. You have to sign up, and become a member, which costs £5 per year. To join you fill in a form on your first visit; opening times Mon to Fri 11am – 3pm. Your shop is mainly free, though they also have a ‘little extras’ section which has branded products at wholesale prices that you do pay for.

The organisation is church based, run in partnership with The Message Trust and C3 Hope. You don’t have to be a member of any church to join.

As well as food shopping, members are invited to attend free courses offered by the partner church. More info on the courses offered can be found here.
