Support for Children & Young People (Up to 25)
Child Bereavement UK have a variety of ways they can support children and young people.
They have support and guidance on their website tailored to children, teenagers/young adults and supporting a bereaved young person.
They also provide a dedicated online space for grieving teenagers and young adults (13 to 25) called Grief Talk. On this website you can learn from other young grieving people, find healthy ways to cope and feel less alone. They also have their own TikTok
Support for Parents, Carers & Families
This focuses on those supporting a child who is grieving, or those who have lost a child.
If you are supporting a young person, they can give practical advice and sessions to help you understand how children and young people (up to age 25) grieve, including how to answer their difficult questions. They also host free monthly online sessions for parents and carers to learn more about supporting grieving children.
Dedicated support is provided for parents and families when a child of any age has died or is facing a terminal illness.
They offer individual or couple sessions, as well as groups where you can meet other parents and families who have experienced similar grief. These happen over the phone, via video, or online chat.
Resources and Information
Their website provides information and resources for families, young people, schools and professionals. They also provide books, DVDs and workbooks for bereaved families, which have been developed with their input, and for professionals.
For Professionals
They design and deliver training for professionals in health and social care, education, the emergency services and the voluntary and corporate sectors, equipping them to provide the best possible support to bereaved families. You can search for their courses on their training for professionals page.
