Zest is a community organisation working in Sheffield with a particular focus on Upperthorpe, Netherthorpe and Langsett. They are a community led initiative that provide lots of activities integrated within community, leisure, health and work support services to children and adults.
They provide both 1:1 and group support and are committed to being an inclusive and welcoming space. Zest support people with complex mental health needs, as well as mobility issues and long term health conditions from diverse backgrounds and ethnicities. Their centre is accessible with ramps, including a swimming pool with a ramp.
Services include:
- Mental Health Educational Programme – group courses for Anxiety Management and Managing Depression
- Health and wellbeing activities – Health & Wellbeing Coaches providing 1-1 and group activities
- Dementia friendly services
- Community Activities for children, parents and families
- Zest for Work – employment support or help to find volunteering activities
- Physical fitness – including gym facilities, swimming pool and exercise classes
- Steel City Dads – for Dads and Co-parents who have children from pregnancy to 2 years old and are experiencing mild mental health and/or supporting Mums with perinatal mental health, birth trauma, child loss and miscarriage.
