Young Minds is a national charity working to improve the mental health of all children and young people. They work with young people, as well as their parents, and professionals.

Young People

The website provides lots of information, advice and resources for young people on a wide range of issues they might be facing. This includes where to find support and help. Young Minds also provide comprehensive information on accessing CAMHS as a young person.

Parents and Carers

Young Minds provide free advice and support for parents if they are worried about their child’s mental health. This includes self-care tips.

They also provide a free and confidential UK parents helpline:

  • Phone: 0808 802 5544 (Mon, Thu and Fri 9:30am-4pm; Tue and Wed 9:30am-6:30pm)
  • via the webchat on their website (click on the chat icon in the bottom right-hand corner of Young Minds parents helpline webpage)
  • Email: [email protected] (they’ll reply within 3-5 working days)

The helpline service is for the parents or main carer of a child or young person aged 25 or under.

Professionals

They also provide a section for teachers and other professionals working with young people. This includes information and resources.
