Volunteer Centre Sheffield is part of Voluntary Action Sheffield (VAS), a charity that supports the voluntary and community sector in Sheffield.
For Volunteers
They provide a guide for people considering volunteering in their Volunteer Hub.
You can use the Volunteer Centre website to search for local volunteering opportunities by clicking on their “search for opportunities” button, or subscribe to their Bulletin. You can email: [email protected] or ring: (0114) 253 6649 for advice about volunteering.
They hold a weekly drop-in service so you can have a chat with an advisor face-to-face.
The service also runs:
- New Beginnings – a programme for refugees and asylum seekers to access support and information around education, volunteering and employment opportunities.
If you are under 18 they provide advice around accessing volunteering opportunities on their website. They also produce a monthly under-18 bulletin for you to download or receive by email.
For Organisations
Volunteer Centre Sheffield provides support to organisations wanting to recruit volunteers, including:
- Advertising of volunteering opportunities: through their free volunteer management platform and monthly bulletin
- Good practice support to organisations e.g. volunteer recruitment & developing role descriptions
- Involving refugee and asylum seeking volunteers: a useful guide
- Volunteer Co-ordinators Forum
