Southey and Owlerton Area Regeneration (SOAR) is a community regeneration charity working in North Sheffield. They provide a range of services designed to improve a person’s health, well-being and employability.

Health & Wellbeing

SOAR run a number of projects designed to improve health and wellbeing. To access these projects, you can be referred by your GP, another professional body, or you can self-refer. A member of the Social Prescribing Team will have an appointment with you where you will be assessed and triaged. Then you may be referred to SOAR’s Wellbeing and Welfare Coaches, or they may signpost you to appropriate external partners.

Group activities that SOAR run include:

  • Chronic Pain groups
  • Women’s Only Support group
  • Swim Bus
  • Craft groups
  • Cook & Eat sessions
  • Dementia Social Groups
  • Carer Support Groups
  • Mental Wellbeing Social Groups
  • Menopause Café

Employment Support

SOAR provide 1-1 employment support for anyone over 18 who isn’t currently working. This can include: support writing a CV; support completing job applications; support sourcing training.
