Silver Line is a national, free, confidential helpline providing information, friendship and advice to older people, aged 55+. It is open 24 hours a day, every day of the year. Their aim is to reduce loneliness and improve the lives of older people.
The helpline is run by trained volunteers and they can offer:
- information and support
- insight into how to access local groups and services
- a referral to regular friendship calls run by our partner charity, Age UK
- protection and support for older people experiencing abuse and neglect.
Silver Line Friends are volunteers who enjoy talking to older people. They are vetted and trained, and work in pairs for safeguarding and support.
