Sheffield Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre (SRASAC) is a specialist service offering free and confidential support to anyone who has experienced rape or sexual abuse at any time in their life.
Service Information line
They provide a Service Information Line. You can access this by phoning Tel: 07517 100 757 (Monday – Friday 9am-5pm). Offers the opportunity to find out more about their services, clarify their criteria and get support with making a referral if needed. It’s a completely confidential service and you don’t need to give your name. You can leave a message if it is safe for you to do so and they’ll call you back within the line opening times.

Services
The services SRASAC provide in Sheffield are:
- Adult Counselling Service: This is a safe, confidential space to anyone over the age of 18 who has experienced sexual abuse or violence at any time in their lives. The counselling can be online or face-to-face.
- Children and Young People’s Counselling Service: providing specialised, trauma-informed support for children and young people aged 4-18 years who have disclosed experiences of sexual abuse or assault. Support may be provided at schools, theirr SRASAC centre, or online.
- Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA): They can provide practical help and emotional support. This is available to anyone over the age of 18 who have been raped or sexually assaulted at any time in their lives, regardless of whether or not you have chosen to report to the police
- Children and Young Persons’ Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (CYP ISVA) service: This is a free and confidential specialist service providing practical help and emotional support to children and their families, who have been raped or sexually assaulted at any time in their lives.
- Wellbeing Service: This offers gentle, practical support while you’re waiting for counselling, or if you’re not in a place where counselling feels right just now. There is a range of support around wellbeing which help people to learn about trauma, develop coping skills, and make connections with other survivors. This includes wellbeing cafes, 1:1 conversations, webinars and online trauma skills course.
They also provide a guide to supporting anyone who has been raped or sexually abused.
