There are advice centres which you can drop in on across Sheffield, or you can check their website for other ways to get in touch.
There is also plenty of self-help advice to explore on their website.
Sheffield Law Centre is also part of Citizens Advice Sheffield and you can access the service by phoning Sheffield CAB advice line or by going to one of the drop-in services.  They offer advice and representation in the areas of law including: Housing; Employment; Discrimination and Equality (discrimination covers acts of unlawful discrimination by providers of services as well as by employers); Public law (public law covers challenges to the acts and failures of public authorities, including cases of judicial review).
Please note, the Law Centre does not advise landlords, employers or service providers. It does not support people outside of Sheffield.
Nationally, the CAB also run a Universal Credit ‘Help to Claim Line’. It’s free, independent and confidential and provides advice from the early stages of a Universal Credit claim, from the application, through to your first payment. Tel: 0800 144 8444 (Mon – Fri, 8am – 6pm).
