The National Association of People in Abused in Childhood (NAPAC) are a charity that provides support and advice for adults who are recovering from abuse in childhood. This can include (but is not limited to), physical, sexual, emotional abuse or neglect.

Helpline

If you’re an adult who wants to talk about what you suffered in childhood, you can call NAPAC’s support line on 0808 801 0331. It is free from UK landlines or mobiles, won’t show up on your telephone bill and is totally confidential. The support line is open from 10am – 9pm on Monday – Thursday and from 10am – 6pm on Fridays.

Other Resources

NAPAC also provide a series of six booklets for survivors and those who support them. They are free to download and are also in audio format on NAPAC’s resources page.

NAPAC also provides advice and support for those survivors with PTSD who may experience flashbacks. If this affects you, they provide detailed and simple advice on grounding techniques which may help.

If somebody you love or care about has told you they suffered childhood abuse and you feel upset and confused, NAPAC also provides support. Their website includes information for anyone who knows a survivor.
