Manor and Castle Development Trust (MCDT) is a local charity.  They work with the community and partners to improve the lives of people who live and work in their local area.

The Trust plays a role in the community by hosting projects and delivering services that help it meet its mission and values. These include support in the local community to aid both mental health and physical health.

Manor and Castle Development Trust runs projects around:

Groups they run include:

  • Grow and Eat – meets weekly Wednesday 12 to 2.30pm at York House, 535 City Road, S2 1GF. Providing a safe space to learn to grow your own fruit and veg, crafting, and cooking on a budget
  • Let’s Have a Chat – men’s mental health peer support group which meets every Friday 10am – 12 noon at York House, 535 City Road, S2 1GF. Supporting conversations regarding mental health and wellbeing of men (18+) living in the S2 area or registered with a S2 GP. Recommended to contact them before attending
  • Time for Change Wellbeing Cafe – meets every Thursday 11am – 2pm at Guildford Grange, 1 – 41 Guildford View, Sheffield, S2 2NZ. A safe space for people with low level mental health conditions to get support and friendship. Includes activities such as arts and crafts, boards games and quizzes

They also produce The Mantle Magazine which provides news, groups and activities covering the Manor Castle & Arbourthorne areas.
