IDAS is a specialist charity in Yorkshire that supports anyone who is experiencing, or is affected by, domestic abuse or sexual violence. You can self-refer to IDAS.
The services they provide include:
- Refuge accommodation
- Support for children and young people
- Peer mentoring
- Group work
- Access to a free and confidential 24/7 helpline
IDAS also have teams of accredited specialist workers, called Independent Sexual Violence Advisors (ISVA) and Independent Domestic Violence Advisors (IDVA). Their role is to support people through the criminal justice system, as well as providing emotional support and safety planning advice.
The majority of IDAS’s services are open to anybody of any gender or sexuality who has been affected by abuse. However, they do also provide single sex services for women and their children.
