Gendered Intelligence (GI) is a national charity aiming to increase understanding of gender diversity and improve the lives of trans people. Some of their projects are listed below – please see their website for a full guide to their work.
Youth Work
Gendered Intelligence particularly specialise in supporting young trans people between 8-25. Projects include:
- Knowledge Is Power – through a series workshops with young trans people, GI have created a series of resources on a wide range topics including: transitioning, trans communities and mental health
- Parents and Carers Workshop – 3 hour trans awareness sessions enabling parents and carers to broaden their understanding of young trans people’s experiences
- Trans Youth Summer Camp
Therapist Directory
GI have created a directory of counsellors and therapists who have completed the two-day GI course, “Working Alongside Trans, Gender Diverse and Questioning People”.
Support Line
GI run a support line for those who are on the waiting list or receiving care at Nottingham Centre for Transgender Health and NHS Sheffield Porterbrook Clinic or the Laurels Exeter.
