Gags for Good is a Sheffield-based social enterprise, using comedy and creative writing to build confidence, reduce loneliness and create inclusive opportunities for connection and personal growth.
Through supportive, inclusive courses and workshops, they help individuals find their voice, rebuild self-belief and connect with others in a welcoming, non-judgemental environment. No previous experience is needed, just curiosity and a willingness to have a go.
They offer 8 week Learn to write & perform stand-up comedy courses. Each week’s session lasts 2 hours, and over the 8 weeks you’ll learn about different styles of comedy, how to write material, how to find your comedy voice and you’ll practice and hone your set until you’re ready to perform it for the first time.
Courses cost, but there are bursary funded places which you can apply for using this form.
