Carmel Care Centre is part of the Catholic Diocese of Hallam Caring Service. It is designed as a calm and welcoming space for those who are experiencing loneliness, addiction, and social isolation. The service operates on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
They provide the following activities:
- Conversation Group (English Language Skills) – Monday 10:30am-12pm
- Drop in and Dinner – Monday 12-2pm, Tuesday 11am-2pm, Wednesday 11am-2pm, Thursday 11am-2pm
- Craft Group – Wednesday alternate weeks 10am-2pm
- Addiction Support – Tuesday and Thursday 11am-2:30pm. A support group based on the 12-step programme for people who are worried about their drinking habits
- Cocaine Anonymous Women’s Group – Wednesday 7pm-9pm
- Narcotics Anonymous Women’s Group – Thursday 7:30-9pm
- Addiction Family Support – Saturday 10:30-12
They can also provide 1:1 and relationship therapy, but this is available by appointment only.
