Beat is a UK charity for people with eating disorders and those who care about them.

They have lots of information and advice on their website about:

Beat campaign to increase knowledge, awareness and understanding of eating disorders across the UK.

They also provide an online directory of eating disorder services run by a variety of different providers.

Online Support Groups

They offer a number of eating disorder online support groups for those with eating disorders. You don’t have to have a formal diagnosis of an eating disorder to use any of them. Their groups include:

  • SWAN – for anyone who has or thinks they may have anorexia
  • NEST – for anyone with an eating disorder
  • KINGFISHER – for anyone who has or thinks they may have bulimia or display some purging tendencies (such as laxative use, over exercising, self-induced vomiting or diuretics)
  • HUMMINGBIRD – for anyone with an ARFID (avoidant restrictive food intake disorder) diagnosis and/or experiencing ARFID symptoms
  • NIGHTINGALE – for anyone who has or thinks they may have binge eating disorder
