The Meeting Place Social Cafe is a weekly event in Stocksbridge aimed at anyone feeling lonely and isolated, anyone who wants to know more about local services and anyone feeling low, isolated, or would just like to talk to someone.

The cafe is a friendly space where people from Stocksbridge, Deepcar and surrounding areas can meet and enjoy some time together with the support of volunteers.

Who is it for?

  • Anyone feeling lonely and isolated, who would like to spend time with others
  • Anyone who would like help and support to find out more about local services and activities
  • Anyone feeling low, who would like someone to talk to in a caring environment
  • Anyone new to Stocksbridge who would like to meet other people and find out about what is available in the local area

What happens there?

In addition to companionship, they provide:

  • Signposting to local services and activities
  • Arts and Crafts
  • Weekly activities such as quizzes, board games and bingo
  • Simple breakfast and light lunch (pay as you feel)
  • Gardening
  • Quieter space provided
  • Occasional trips out

Where: Community Hall, Christ Church Stocksbridge, 586 Manchester Rd, Stocksbridge, Sheffield, S36 1DY

When: Every Monday 9.30 – 1.00pm (except bank holidays).
