Drug and Alcohol Commissioning Team (DACT)
Users of mental health services may also need help to deal with drug or alcohol dependence. Drug and alcohol treatment in Sheffield is commissioned by the Drug and Alcohol Commissioning Team (DACT). The team is part of the Safer Communities Partnership, which includes partners from the Council, health, police and probation. A range of services are commissioned from both the NHS and voluntary organisations.


The DACT works closely with partners, treatment providers, service users and carers to ensure there are a range of quality services to meet the needs of Sheffield people. Support with alcohol and drugs
For information and advice about your own or someone else's drug or alcohol use, you can call the DACT to speak to someone in confidence and/or make an appointment. Call 0114 2721481 to talk about drug use or 0845 3451549 to talk about alcohol use.

Sheffield Health and Social Care NHS Foundation Trust (SHSC) also offers support to people who are experiencing alcohol and drug problems. The Open Access Alcohol Service exists to help people who are concerned about their own or someone else's drinking, and can be contacted by phoning 0845 345 1549.  There is also a Drug Service and you will need a referral from your GP or another health professional to get an appointment.

The Corner is the drug and alcohol service for young people under 19 years old in Sheffield. They offer advice, information, support and counselling around drug and alcohol related issues. Referrals can be made by self or others. The Corner also offer advice and information for parents, carers and other family members, education sessions for young people and training and consultancy for other workers.
