Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide (SOBS)
Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide (SOBS) is an organisation whose purpose is to meet the needs and break the isolation of those bereaved by the suicide of a close relative or friend. They are a self-help organisation. Many of their volunteers have themselves been bereaved by suicide.
They offer the following emotional and practical support:
- Confidential telephone helpline
- E-mail support
- Local support groups
- LGBTQ support
- Website containing information and advice
The National Helpline is available 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
The Sheffield support group meets 1st Wednesday of the month. Please contact June or Nick on the above number for further details of times and location of meetings. You get through to an answerphone however please leave a message and one of them will get back to you.
