Memory Service

The Memory Service works to increase the number of people who receive early assessment and diagnosis of dementia. They provide support, treatment and medication for patients and support for their carers.

The service also offers talking treatments in various groups, including:

  • Memory Workshop - a group programme for people with dementia and their carer/supporter
  • Coping with Forgetting group - enabling a person with a diagnosis to discuss related issues and help them to adjust to their diagnosis
  • Caring and Coping with Loss - a support group for carers addressing changes and losses

Telephone lines are open Monday to Friday 8.30 - 12noon and 1.00pm to 3.30pm.

A nurse helpline operates on Mondays and Wednesdays between 9.00am and 11.30am.

Referrals can only be made through the patient's GP/Primary Care or through professionals working into Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Self-referrals are not accepted.
