Intensive Support Service (ISS)

The Intensive Support Service is a specialist team working with people with a learning disability whose behaviour challenges others or if they have ongoing mental health needs.

The Service has a base with eight bedrooms for assessment and treatment, out patient clinics and office space for the clinical team.

The team also works with people in their own home and the community.

The Intensive Support Service is a multi-disiplinary team including a Consultant Psychiatrist, Nurse Consultant, Specialist Nurses, Clinical Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists.

Referrals are accepted from the Community Learning Disability Team only.  The Community Learning Disability Team accepts referrals from primary care (GPs), secondary care health care professionals, self-referrals or referrals from family members/carers.
