I need urgent help! What to do in a crisis

Beat is a UK charity for people with eating disorders and their families. Beat was formerly known as the Eating Disorders Association. Their activities are designed to increase knowledge, awareness and understanding of eating disorders; to provide support, help and information to people directly affected; and to increase the understanding and skills of professional staff.

Beat provides helplines, online support and a network of UK-wide self-help groups to help adults and young people in the UK beat their eating disorders, such as anorexia, bulimia nervosa and binge eating disorder. Details of local contacts are available to callers via the helpline.

The Beat Adult Helpline is open to anyone over 18 who needs support and information relating to an eating disorder, including sufferers, carers and professionals.

The Beat Youthline is for those 25 and under.

Both helplines operate 365 days a year 4pm - 10pm
